Kathleen Toale

Sarasota native Kathleen Toale retired in 2006 from Toale Brothers Funeral Home, where she had worked since 1979 as the second generation of management. At Toale Brothers she was responsible for human resources, marketing, advertising, advanced planning, insurances and profit-sharing. From 1982 to March 2006, she was also executive director of Florida for Trust 100, Inc., a national network of independent and family-owned funeral homes. The Toale family business is celebrating 100 years of service to the community in 2012.

Kathleen’s extensive community involvement includes service as board chair and trustee for Plymouth Harbor, Inc. and as a director of The Argus Foundation, Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Downtown Association of Commercial Property Owners and the Glenridge on Palmer Ranch. A graduate of Leadership Florida, Class XV, she has also been a member of the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and its Better Business Council. Kathleen became a director of Caldwell Trust Company in  2009, serving on the Audit and Trust Committees.

Kathleen met Kelly Caldwell through their involvement with the Argus Foundation. When Kelly was seeking a downtown Sarasota location for Caldwell, he contacted Kathleen. As a result of their many positive conversations, Kelly invited Kathleen to join Caldwell’s board.
