Wendy L. Fishman

Wendy L. Fishman, CTFA

Executive Vice President and Senior Trust Officer

Wendy Fishman, CTFA, has had a long and successful career in the trust banking industry and achieved a sterling record of accomplishments for more than 30 years. An executive vice president and senior trust officer with Caldwell Trust Company, she is responsible for all aspects of fiduciary administration for clients from Manatee County to Naples. Her special strengths are in tax regulations, especially for estate planning and trust administration and operations. Her ultimate expertise is in personal client relations.

Before joining Caldwell Trust Company in 2007, Ms. Fishman had been employed for 24 years by a large commercial trust bank. As a senior vice president there, she managed over $18 billion in assets. After watching trust companies be merged, bought, and sold--and ultimately replace their personal service to clients with 1.800 telephone numbers-- she decided to make a change.

She sought an affiliation with a smaller, locally owned, independent company that would still deliver traditional trust services with a personal touch. In addition, she wanted the chance to fulfill her passion for community service. She found both opportunities in Caldwell Trust Company, which retains its strong commitment to clients and community even as its assets under management have grown beyond $800 million. As a resident of Venice, Florida, she was further drawn to Caldwell because it maintains corporate headquarters in that community and has a solid record of public service in Venice as well as Sarasota County.

Ms. Fishman is recognized by the American Bankers Association as a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor. She is also an honors graduate of the ABA National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University. She holds a B.S. in business administration from Ohio Northern University.

Her knowledge of the many aspects of trust management is deep and her experience is extensive. No less noteworthy is her service to her community. Her most recent pro bono activities have included:

  • Current board member of Senior Friendship Center and YMCA of Southwest Florida
  • Member of the Venice Estate Planning Council, past chairperson including service on the executive committee;
  • Member and past board chairperson of SCOPE (Sarasota County Openly Plans For Excellence); co-chair of Domestic Violence Study Group for SCOPE;
  • Mentor, Take Stock in Children of Sarasota County, Inc.
  • Board member of YMCA of Southwest Florida for 20+ years - chairperson of Black-Tie gala 2017, 2018; co- chair 2000-2010, and committee member for 10 years;
  • Leadership and participation services for fundraising activities for Children First, Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County and All Faiths Food Bank.
